Akai RPM3 active studio monitor review

Hi guys, yesterday I posted the Akai RPM8 monitors, today I bring you their little sisters, the Akai RPM3. And no, that isn't a mistake, that is their real price... $99.00

What can I say about these? They look incredible, plug in via USB, are magnetically shielded, are lightweight and highly portable - ideal for your desktop or small mobile recording rigs. They have volume pots on the pot too.

These speakers actually act as an audio interface with 1/4 inch jack or aux inputs. No special drivers are required, which is a huge bonus for those looking to plug in and go!

For your money you get a pair of speakers and a reliable audio interface. At this price, how can you go wrong?

The Akai RPM3 monitors are going on Amazon for only $99!

  3. Price sounds almost too good to be true.

How do they act as an interface though? I imagine the multiplexers and actual analog to digital converters aren't that great quality wise if the price is so low. If they were just good studio monitors for that price then I might be more inclined to check them out seriously for purchase, however the fact that they split their investment into 2 drastically different areas makes me a little more doubtful of their true worth.

  5. I don't know about Terce. Probably very correct, but I'd certainly test them if I was on the market for new speakers.
